Husband loves this name...and I quite like it, what do you think of Marnie for a girl?

Love it. I had a friend called Marnie at primary school over 30 years ago. Her Dad was American and she'd spent time over there and she seemed so exciting to the 9 year old me.

Sorry for the slight hijack but go for it!

I had an aunt known as Marnie, her full name was Marjorie which is a lovely name probably due for a comeback.

It sounds as though it is short for something or an N crept into Marie.
Not one I would consider.

Reminds me of the Alfred Hitchcock film and Winston Graham book. Marnie was not a particularly happy character. Also find it a bit 1960s American.

I know a Marnie. She is nice and I think it's a pretty name without being too selfconsciously 'unusual'.

I know a lovely 12 year old Marnie too . It's a very pretty name and unusual without being pretentious. I don't think most people would make the association with the Hitchcock film.
