Hello Everyone,

What do you think of these? The baby's surname will be McQuewen. If it is a girl it will have my grandmother's name as a middle name (all the women in my family do) - Alys (A-liss). Boys don't get middle names because DH's family don't have them...although I like Christopher so might argue the point with DH if I can be bothered!

Girls:
Imogen Alys (nn Emmie)
Emmeline Alys (nn Em/Emmie\Emma)
Merryn Alys
Isobelle Alys (nn Izzy)

Boys
Spencer (nn Spence)
Elliott (haven't decided on spelling yet)
Vincent (Vince\Vinnie)
Nathan (nn Nate)

What do you think? Can you think of any horrible teaing things I have missed?

Girls:
Imogen Alys (nn Emmie) - Imogen is pretty but most have nn of Imy, not heard of it beign shortened to Emmie
Emmeline Alys (nn Em/Emmie\Emma) - Like Emma a lot. Not so keen on Emmeline; sounds a bit like a 'cow' name like Ermatrude
Merryn Alys - not heard before but quite like. Will you get annoyed by people mishearing it as Mary
Isobelle Alys (nn Izzy) - too popular for my liking, prefer Isobel spelling myself. But please don't shorten to Izzy that is horrible...

Boys
Spencer (nn Spence) - I quite like this but woouldn't use it myself
Elliott (haven't decided on spelling yet) - NO!
Vincent (Vince\Vinnie) - Like but prefer Victor
Nathan (nn Nate) - sometimes I like this name and other times I think it sounds a bit wet. Not keen on Nate.

Emmaline and Merryn are nice! And Nathan Christopher sounds great! Spencer would be my second choice. LOVE the name Nathan!!!

Merryn Alys is very cool.

I wouldn't go for Merryn and would go for Nathan.

I'm an Alice and have always been a little sceptical of the alternative spellings, but I suppose if it's traditional in your family then that's lovely.
