Do you think there will be lots of them this year? DH and I both like the name (minor miracle) but MIL thinks it will be very popular (presumably because of the wedding).

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes, very popular already, possibly due to Prince William? I quite like William as long as it isn't shortened - really dislike Will (Will, will you...) or Willy (Grin).

My DS is William. Will for short. I love it - classic, non-chavvy (so flame me!), not TOO popular. I named him after my Dad who died when I was 7 months pregnant so love it even more as reminds everyone of him. I doubt it will be any more popular due to Royal Wedding - how many Charles and Diana's did you get in the 80's?

Lots of the names suggested without nn's have really obvious nicknames by the way! E.g. Adam - every Adam I know gets called Ad!

I don't get the "Will, Will you" one. Am I missing something?

Lovely name, my eldest son is William and he is the only one in the school. Mainly gets shortened to Wills which I really like.

Panzee, I think the argument is that "will" is a verb (and a noun, a will) which can be confusing. For example " Will, will you please write your will" Grin.

A bit like calling your child "can" or "want".
