First of all does it go with Amanda, Zak, Genevieve, and Elliot?

Second of all i have a friend who has a son called Connor but we only see each other once a month (if that) and we text and facebook so what do you think?

What do you think of Abigail for a girl?

I'm not sure those four really "go" with each other anyway, it's not like they seem like a set of names IYSWIM.

It won't matter at all that your friend has a Connor too. You could go for Conor if it really bothers you?

I've always hated Abigail myself (I think it's the "big"), but Abi/Abbey is nice. I know a little Abigail who is known as Abi and it suits her. If you already have an Amanda you might want to pick a different initial though :)

BunnyLebowski · 14/04/2011 10:46

Well firstly I'd spell it properly so Conor rather than the americanised Connor.

If you like it then use it. It sounds nice with your other names and it's a great name for a wee boy and a grown man.

Not mad keen on Abigail. Probably because of the Abby/Abi shortening which is just too overly used for me.

Valiant1 · 14/04/2011 11:42

Abigail is nice with Abi for a nn

Connor do not like at all

SolarPanel · 14/04/2011 20:45

Abigail is lovely, Connor is OK but too surnamey for my taste. I don't think it makes a difference that your friend has a Connor.

vicki2010 · 15/04/2011 09:06

my 9yr old is called connor and i love it!! at the time it was quite common and i worried it was a bit well uhhm chavvy, but he's the only connor in his school and im glad i chose it,his brother is Daniel by the way,do they go??

TysonSnowflower · 15/04/2011 09:11

I love Connor and Abigail
Your friend wont care, but for your sake, just ask/tell her

LucretiaInShadows · 15/04/2011 09:53

I prefer the "Conor" spelling, but like the sound of the name. Would be nice to check with friend, though.

Abigail/Abi is a timeless classic. Having two A initials in the family might be a pain, but lots of people manage or even do it on purpose.

MollysChambers · 15/04/2011 10:01

I like both names.

natwebb79 · 15/04/2011 16:44

I like the name Connor but 8 years of teaching has highlighted it as a 'naughty boy' name. Mind you, most names are off my list for the same reason...think we'll struggle if we have a boy! :-)

peeriebear · 15/04/2011 16:47

My DNephew is a Connor, it's a great choice :o Though natwebb, I think he might be one of those that have influenced you! 'High spirited' doesn't come close.
Abigail v popular atm IMO.

Needababyname · 15/04/2011 16:55

My DS is Connor it is ob lovely IMO but everyone spells it wrong where as DDs name (which is unusual) is never spelt wrong.

ilovesprouts · 15/04/2011 17:02

Valiant1 · 15/04/2011 19:29
