I really like the name Phoebe for our DC2 but am a bit concerned as my sister has a cat with this name and so does my friend. Actually another friend has a dog named Phoebe. Should I let this change my mind?

Also DH and I have always loved Bree - should the cheese link put me off that one? Does anyone know a Bree and if so what do they think of it?

Thanks for your opinions :)

My son is called Felix and everyone said 'no! Don't do it - it is a cat name!' It really suits him and nobody has said anything negative about it since he arrived. Mind you, I don't live in the UK so the adverts aren't a constant reminder...

People nowadays are tending to give their pets human names. Unless it's a traditional pet name (like Fido) I don't think the overlap matters. 'Bruce' though does not seem to suffer from the fact that it's a common dog name (oop North, anyway).

I have a Phoebe, and my parents next door neighbour called their puppy Phoebe. My Phoebe was very confused that she had the same name as a puppy. But, my Phoebe was here first!

I love the name (obviously) so I'd say go for it!
