gorionine · 09/04/2011 11:13

Oh I love Loredana, I was very into when a teenagerSmile

Bucharest · 09/04/2011 17:39

Loredana Berte? Have you seen her recently? She makes Alice Cooper look staid these days.

Be aware that some of the names mentioned on here would be the Italian equivalent of Doris or Maureen...ie they sound lovely to our ears, but Italians roll on the floor when we say we like them. (Antonia, Elisabetta, Giovanna and my dd's middle name which I insisted on anyway- Caterina)

I love Francesca personally, and would have considered it for dd but here (obviously) they are 2 a penny.

Antonella I would say is the Italian version of Karen or Sarah. (ie gerzillions in their 20s 30s 40s, not very common now)

Bucharest · 09/04/2011 17:40

Italian friends of mine who have had girls recently have named them Valeria, Greta and Ginevra.

leanmeancoffeebean · 09/04/2011 18:18

Valentina or Viviana for certain! They're beautiful!

gorionine · 09/04/2011 18:26

Bucharest, no, not seen her recently, talking about aproximatly 20 years ago in the days I was young and beautiful myself! Nowadays, I would make Alice Cooper look in his primeGrin.

bucaneve · 09/04/2011 20:29

I've noticed that the fashion for old lady names has spread to Italy too.
My youngest cousins/friends' kids in Italy are:
Carolina
Graziella
Beatrice

jerURSULAmBuffay · 09/04/2011 20:30

Alessia

yonker · 10/04/2011 01:33

You may have already decided but in my son's class there is a Ludovica, (nn Lulu) I didn't really like the name when I first heard it but has really grown on me (possibly because she is such a lovely little girl). Others I like are

Alessandra
Tiziana
Chiara
Flavia
Alessia
Donatella
Stella

This is my first baby name post so I don't mind a bit of a roasting!

Bucharest · 10/04/2011 11:11
