We are due a girl in 5 weeks but are completely at a loss when it comes to names! Any suggestions welcome! DH would like something a bit unusual but I am very aware that she will have to live with her name. DS (7) has a name that had fallen out of favour but has since made a huge comeback so would like something that doesn't feature on the top 10! TIA!

You can't just say that - we need to know which ones have made it onto the short list Grin

laughalot · 28/03/2011 17:58

Yes milkybrew which ones Grin

JiltedJohnsJulie · 28/03/2011 18:30

So go on Milkybrew, give us the new shortlist. Bet there are some lovely short, 2 syllable names Smile

Milkybrew · 28/03/2011 19:04

Ok, here's the new shortlist:

Seren
Isla
Eva
Tegan
Hannah
Ayla
Leala
Fleur
Carys
Claudia-nn claudie
Isabella-nn bella
Juno
Alexis

Febreeze-how do you pronounce Arden? Ar-den? It's a lovely name.

Sadly candy and roxanne didn't make the list! Shock

Also like Lola, but DH not keen. He thinks I should take Hannah off the list as I won't let his favourite name on it! It's Romana. I just don't like it, not offence to anyone with this name, it's just not my cup of tea!

Yes, Arden rhymes with garden. It suits her, I'm glad you like it.
You've got a fab shortlist - I would only say that Isabelle/Bella whilst beautiful is uber popular.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 28/03/2011 19:43

From your new list my favourites are:

Seren
Hannah
Carys
Claudia-nn claudie
and
Isabella-nn bella (although personally wouldn't use this one as it is so popular)

CPtart · 28/03/2011 20:43

Natalie, Alicia, Erin, Louisa, Erica, Elizabeth, Georgina,

I would bet Eva is on the top ten of most popular?

JiltedJohnsJulie · 29/03/2011 13:26

Oh, and you do realise that Isabella is 4 syllables don't you? Even I didn't manage to 4 syllables with DD Grin

nickelbabyhatcher · 29/03/2011 13:29

good for vetoing Romana, it sounds more like a country than a name!

Milkybrew · 29/03/2011 16:23

Glad someone agrees that Romana is not suitable!
I've gone nearly the whole day without thinking about names! It was nice to have a break! I think it will come down to seeing which of the shortlisted names suit her once she is here!

Anyone said Romy or Romily yet?

oohlaalaa · 29/03/2011 20:47

Milkybrew · 02/04/2011 20:56

Just thought of another one! Sadie? Any opinions?
