Elijah - Am I being ridiculous?

I really like the name Elijah and the nn Eli (as does DH).

However something is bugging me, and I don't know how to shake it off!
A 'baddy' in the first series of '24' was called Eli (no idea if short for Elijah, it didn't say), but he was a horrible animal of a man, and it's putting me off ever using this name.

Am I being ridiculous..?

I think its a lovely name.

I think it's a lovely name.

I associate it with non-conformist evangelical churches, a religious and celebrational name.

YABR - Lovely name, don't let a made up character spoil it for you.

I think it's a great name too. I believe that if you call your baby Elijah/Eli, then within a couple of days you will have forgotten the bad connotation you have for it because your ds will own the name and make it good for you. Go for it! It was only a tv programme - not a 'real' horrible person.

I have an Elye. We liked Elijah, Eli and Ely (all Jewish names) and decided to just change the spelling. 7 years down the line I don't regret it.
