James or Seamus?

James is a meaningful family name on Mom's side. Most men on Dad's side have Irish names/spellings, Dad included. Both go equally well with (Irish) surname. Child has about an equal chance of being raised in Ireland or the U.S.

Your thoughts?

Definitely James.

They can be used interchangeably in ireland if you can't decide. Does that help!? I'd go for SEamus on the bc and then you can always call him James if you want to.

It does help, Valium ! We're in Ireland now but not sure if we'll stay. Some of the family do use both the Irish and English versions of their names.

diddl Hamish is lovely! But we've no Scots connections at all, so Seamus it is, I think.

Now, to conceive him... Grin
