Just pondering on girls names in case one of these twins I'm having turns out to be female.

It would probably get shortened to Tasha. What do you think?

I like it

CrispyTheCrisp · 13/03/2011 20:35

I love it. We could't use it for some very sad reasons but i think it is a great name

nenevomito · 13/03/2011 20:36

I think its lovely.

Teapot13 · 13/03/2011 20:46

It's a nickname in my book (for Natalia). I would use Natalia -- partly because I like full names on birth certificates but also because I think it's prettier.

randomimposter · 13/03/2011 20:58

I think it's lovely, a name in its own right, and nicer than Natalie/Natalia.

Tash/Tasha a lovely NN.

phooey · 13/03/2011 21:01

It's my future daughter's name Smile

Greythorne · 13/03/2011 21:03

Love it.

Onion1968 · 13/03/2011 21:17

Love it

PepsiPopcorn · 13/03/2011 21:41

Lovely :)

Jojay · 13/03/2011 21:43

Wow! Universal approval - that must be a first for MN!

I thought it needs a one syllable middle name, maybe

Natasha Rose
Natasha Jane

Erm, can't think of any more, but you get the gist.

I bet it's two boys now Grin

Canella · 13/03/2011 21:46

I've got a Natascha so glad it gets the MN approval!! I liked it since it wasnt such a common name but not old fashioned!! Never regretted it!I dont shorten it but she sometimes gets called Tascha at school.

phooey · 13/03/2011 21:49

Dammit - does the unanimous approval mean it's the new Olivia?

phooey · 13/03/2011 21:51

What are your provisional boys' names?

Greythorne · 13/03/2011 21:51

phooey
I don't think so....it has been going down the list of Top 100 names for the past 5 years.

Jojay · 13/03/2011 22:11

phooey Not sure yet. We've got a Jasper and an Edward (Ed) already. Dh and I agreed on Jasper early on, but we agonised over Ed's name for ages, so it feels like we've done boys names to death!

Maybe Dominic or Douglas (Dougie) but DH not that keen.

OP posts:
phooey · 13/03/2011 22:13

Ooh I like Dominic. I work with a v handsome and nice Dominic Blush

Jojay · 13/03/2011 22:14

And Canella, I agree, I like names that are fairly unusual - though I realise Edward doesn't fit into this category - but people will have heard of it before - nothing too off the wall that the poor child will have to repeat over and over again it's whole life!

Canella · 14/03/2011 06:38

and meant to say last night - we spelt it differently since thats how they spell it where my dh comes from and where we live - i wouldnt recommend spelling it this way in the UK - it just causes confusion!!

stuffedmk · 14/03/2011 12:25

Have a niece named Natasha (shortened to both Tash and Tasha) lovely name.

BarbieLovesKen · 14/03/2011 12:45

I love it.

englishmummyinwales · 14/03/2011 14:56

I am very jealous as it was my girl's name both times - I have two boys. Love my boys to bits and wouldn't swap them for the world but sometimes feel a bit sad that I never got to use Natasha. (Am planning to get a female dog called Tash to compensate...)

Jojay · 15/03/2011 07:23

Englishmummy - what did you call your boys?

OP posts:
shouldnotbehere · 15/03/2011 09:36

Love it. I like Nat, Tash, Tasha and Sasha as nns

MackerelOfFact · 15/03/2011 09:41

I don't dislike it but to my ears it's a bit 80s. Nothing particularly wrong with that though, it's better than having a 'faddy' name that places you firmly in the era you were born.

timetomove · 15/03/2011 09:41

i know a Natasha with nn Tashi which I think is cute
