Girl due in a couple of months, do these go together?

I have Patrick (Paddy), and Imogen (Mimi). Have all along liked Phoebe and think it goes well with the other names however DH not convinced. Have since come up with Thea. Does this 'match' do you think?

I prefer Phoebe to Thea, but yes I think either would be fine with the other names.

Both are lovely and go with your other DC. Having said that getting the name to "go together* never once crossed my mind when having DC2.

Well I saw someone asking about names 'going together' on another thread and seemed like not too bad an idea to me. I think perhaps having two children with quite regular names it would be preferable to continue in the same vein rather than suddenly veering off into the windswept and interesting category...Smile

i like both but pheobe is very popular just now so would go for thea.

pencilpotmonitor · 19/02/2011 09:40

Either name sounds fine, but my fave is Phoebe Smile

Like Pheobe but not Thea.

eviscerateyourmemory · 19/02/2011 10:04

Phoebe is nicer, IMO. Xanthe is a bit like Thea, but maybe a better fit with Imogen?

diddl · 19/02/2011 10:29

I like both & think that they both go well with the other names.

Phoebe is pretty and also the meaning is good.

It could seem odd to call a baby just 'Thea' because it is calling her 'God' in Greek.
I think it is short for Dorothea / Theodora which means gift of God. Nice meaning but name not to everyone's taste!

OliveMalay · 19/02/2011 11:08

Agree Greenwing. Dorothea, Theodora or Anthea would be nice full names with Thea for short.

I prefer Phoebe, and it goes really well with Paddy (brill name!) and Mimi.

tokentotty · 19/02/2011 13:40

Hahaha yes lockets, I have seen shameless.... Very unintentional that's for sure. We thought she'd be Imogen, Immy for short, however when DS came to visit her in the hospital at only 17 months old, we told him her name was Immy and he said "hello Mim Mim".

And a new nn was born....

I prefer Thea to Phoebe, I think Thea is really pretty. Phoebe is ok but nothing special, will always be a 'dippy' name to me because of the Friends link.
