Very early days and we don't know what we're having yet but here are a few girls names that we (I) have in mind.

Inga
Robyn
Peta
Ingrid
Johanna (pronounced yohanna)

We're in Denmark at the mo and want a name that can travel.

Waddayathink?

I like Inga, Ingrid and Johanna, Robyn will travel but it reminds me too much of that pop star, Peta looks lovely but sounds like Pete.

I so want to go to Denmark, btw...

thenightwalker · 07/02/2011 10:07

I have a friend called robyn.. Shes absolutely beautiful (cow) :D

johanna reminds me of a girl off of americas next top model. (not a fan)

sorry dont like peta

Ingrid sounds abit uppity (unless thats what you were going for)

and iv never heard of an inga

UpSinceCrapOClock · 07/02/2011 10:12

Ooh, I'm in Denmark!

Ingrid is quite hard to pronounce the Danish way for non-Danes? Although I do like it!

My favourite of those is Johanna (although I would spell is Johanne!)

Psammead · 07/02/2011 12:57

Dislike Peta. It'sa radical animal protection society in America, too.

I like Robyn and Inga best.

Cursingtheboobytum · 07/02/2011 13:09

Thanks all. I'm leaning towards Inga but am terrified they'll be known as 'Inga the Minga'... Now to have a think about boy's names.

Hiya UpSinceCrapOClock We're in Jutland. Whereabouts are you? Haven't found any other mns over here yet.

OP posts:
UpSinceCrapOClock · 07/02/2011 13:22

Doubt they'd be known as Inga the Minga in Denmark!

How about some of the longer 'Inga names' ?

Ingeborg
Ingeliese
Ingemerete
Ingbritt

Do you want it to be a specific 'nationality', or more international?

What are you leaning towards for boy's names?

We're in the capital, although I lived in Ã…rhus for a while and have a friend in Aalborg who I keep promising to visit.

I've seen a couple of 'Danish' mnetters on the forum now and then. Not very often though!

kreecherlivesupstairs · 07/02/2011 13:23

Johanne/a of all of them.

CilantroLarry · 07/02/2011 13:23

Oh I like them. Not weird at all.

Inga is lovely.

Glamour · 07/02/2011 13:30

i also like Inga!

teobaldo · 07/02/2011 13:58

Perhaps Ingrid? but none of these names really impress me. What about Astrid or Freya ?

DitaVonCheese · 07/02/2011 14:08

I love Inga and Ingrid - I know two Ingas (one Scottish, one South African I think) and they are both known Ginga from time to time, so worth bearing in mind if you have red hair in your genes Wink

Also love Astrid and Stella (Stella probably not remotely related but for some reason lives in the same box in my head).

Not so keen on the others.

MrsDeidreIppy · 07/02/2011 14:11

Love Ingrid and Peta

MelinaM · 07/02/2011 14:51

Absolutely adore IngridSmile Robyn and Johanna are lovely, lovely names too. Not a fan of Inga or Peta they sound unfinished iykwim! x

mathanxiety · 07/02/2011 15:31

Ingrid and Johanna are my favourites.

ckny1 · 08/02/2011 10:19

All lovely names. In case Peta is a problem b/c of the anti-animal cruelty group, Petra may be another option, though Inga, Ingrid, and Johanna are my faves. Good luck with your decisions!

AllieW · 08/02/2011 10:38

Inga and Ingrid are lovely. While Peta may look pretty written down, it just sounds like Peter when you say it and therefore not very feminine. Petra is marginally better.

BecauseItoldYouSo · 08/02/2011 10:39

Nothing strange or weird about them. They are all perfectly fine.

Pasiphae · 08/02/2011 10:55

I think Ingrid travels particulary well.

Inga is very sweet!

QuestionNumber · 08/02/2011 12:06

I like Inga best from your list.

How about

Nina
