What names can be shortened to Coco

I love the name Coco for DD2 but DH thinks she should have a longer name on her BC. She's due in August so plenty of time, but I can't think of I any names that can be shortened to Coco, but love it too much to let go of it! Can you help?

I'm Constance shortened to Connie then Coco :)

JamieLeeCurtis · 05/02/2011 20:36

Yes, Coco Phoenix is the best

VintageLuxury · 05/02/2011 20:49

I love Coco Phoenix too! DH is not 100% convinced, he prefers Coco Saffron or Coco Sapphire. I actually love both them too, so I'm not sure what her name will be yet.

I think place names are a bit tacky. But I don't think of the place when it's Phoenix - I think of the fabulous creature.

I think Coco Phoenix would be a great name.

iloveblue · 05/02/2011 20:59

What about
Coco Wren or
Coco Blue

Both go really well with Sorocco too.

VintageLuxury · 05/02/2011 21:02

I quite like Coco Blue but a lady in my pregnancy yoga class just had her baby and named it Keira Blue. I quite like Wren but Phoenix is in the lead.

I love Coco Phoenix. Or Sorocco Phoenix which is how it might look on paperwork. Phoenix gives Coco a bit of a sassy kick, whereas Blue and Wren (and both are lovely - Wren is on my list) combined with Coco makes it a bit cutsy. In my humble opinion!

Nightstar · 05/02/2011 22:32

Paisley?

Do you know what colour it is? Its that awful 70's pattern.

Or Ian Paisley the politician?

Dont do it honey!

Maybe Paige? I like Raine or Petal off your list.

Sorocco is a made up word, how about Sirocco which is an Eastern wind. Comes from the Sahara and blows accross the Med. Very romantic

QueeferSutherland · 05/02/2011 22:41

Or a snazzy VW.

coco2901 · 05/02/2011 23:01

Paisley s also a not very desirable area near Glasgow fwiw...

NoHunIntended · 05/02/2011 23:01

Absolutely LOVE Sorocco Phoenix, and Coco goes beautifully with Honey (if you care about siblings' names 'going'). Please update us in August to let us know if you went for Sorocco Phoenix!

(I like Paisley too!)

BibiBelle · 05/02/2011 23:06

Paisley - if you've ever been to the town please don't do it.

Am pretty sure it isn't a made up word but a Spanish name? Doesn't it mean help? I could be wrong Grin

and the VW is the scirocco no?

one of our DD's is Cordelia. We love it and it's meaning.

onimolap · 05/02/2011 23:09

Socorro is a traditional Spanish name (based on ne of the appellations of the Virgin). I googled Sorocco, and it gets only a couple of mentions as a boys' name. I don't actually like it.

How about Khione (the Greek goddess of winter), which could just about be shortened to Coco. Then with Phoenix you have ice and fire together.

NoHunIntended · 05/02/2011 23:20

"How about Khione (the Greek goddess of winter), which could just about be shortened to Coco. Then with Phoenix you have ice and fire together." onimolap, that is lovely! :) I like the way you think!

fifi25 · 05/02/2011 23:46

Its short for the spanish name Socorro

I like coco by itself Smile

VintageLuxury · 06/02/2011 08:18

Thank You everyone for your lovely suggestions!
Me and DH have pretty much decided on Sorocco, as we both love it! I love Phoenix for her middle name but DH thinks its too eccentric, even for me! What do you think of Coco Saffron?

BibiBelle · 06/02/2011 09:23

Jo wiley from Radio One has Coco Lux which i think is sweet

what about
Stella
Willow - ooh coco Willow is pretty!
Sienna
Renee

umiaisha · 06/02/2011 09:52

Our dd (aged 4) is Coco Aisha.

We met a Coco Rose a few months back. Just be prepared to meet quite a few pets named Coco too!!

SilkStalkings · 06/02/2011 11:43

Is Sorocco a name? Don't you mean Scirocco? Like the wind?

JamieLeeCurtis · 06/02/2011 11:55

That's what I was wondering Silk ... It looks like it's spelled wrong, OP

IngridFletcher · 06/02/2011 12:02

It's a place in New mexico. I think coco as a name in it's self is better.

Do you not think Honey and Coco sound like a list of ingredients?

fifi25 · 06/02/2011 12:26

I googled it last night out of curiosity and a few sites came up with Socorro. I would research it properly though as some of the name sites come up with different meanings and origins for my daughters name

TallulahDoesTheHula · 06/02/2011 12:28

I like the sound of Sorocco with Coco for short!

How do you say Sorocco? Is it Se-Rocko?

lycheemartini · 06/02/2011 12:57

Sorocco Phoenix is cool but Phoenix always makes me think of Mel B.

How about:

Sorocco Fuschia
Sorocco Lavender

I really like Coco Lavender and think it goes brilliantly with Honey Valentine. And makes me think of amazing Rococco lavender chocolate!

onimolap · 06/02/2011 13:05

I'm not that keen on Saffron.

I think Fuchsia is lovely (but only for the middle). How about other copies, like Magenta or Viridian?
