Heath?

My due date is very soon and it's a boy. I have always loved the name Heath, DD is Daisy. What do you think? I like nature names and I think they work really nicely together. Surname is 3 syllables beginning Peter.

The other enduring favourite is Harry, despite it's popularity. Both names work really well with the surname.

Opinions please!

I used to go out with a Heath, short for Heathcliff. He was very handsome but a bit of a fool. I always thought it was a good name though, and still do.

Janoschi · 02/02/2011 21:28

I love nature names and think Daisy and Heath work so well! Go for it!

ThatllDoPig · 02/02/2011 21:29

Heathcliff
Heath Ledger

what is there not to like! (apart from getting into debate about the cruelty of heathcliff in w. heights, but taken at face value as a romantic hero!) fab name.

jumpyjack · 02/02/2011 21:37

Great name. Love it. Especially with a longer surname.

bigbluebump · 02/02/2011 21:49

Heath is much nicer than Harry. Great choice!

hoosyermama · 02/02/2011 21:51

Thanks! That's really encouraging! You're all echoing my thoughts! Anyone else??!

Love it. It was on my list for DC1 but DP says it makes him think of Kate Bush (!?)

Glamour · 02/02/2011 22:45

Daisy and Heath! awwww lovely! Smile

Rindercella · 02/02/2011 22:47

I really like it.

And Daisy & Heath go beautifully together. Smile

anthonywiggleisthebest · 02/02/2011 23:12

They do actually sound lovely together!!! But I have a friend Heather, who I shorten to Heath! So although a different sound, that's what it looks like to me! Nature names, I love Daisy and River ??

hoosyermama · 04/02/2011 20:05

Thanks for your feedback! :) I do like River too anthony but DP doesn't! He does like Heath though! It's a very real possibility... Just need to think of a mn name now! Any other thoughts? TIA

Love it. Harry is nice but Heath is nicer.

MelinaM · 04/02/2011 20:09

Absolutely LOVE Heath! ..much better and far less common than HarryGrin Go for it! x

freerangeeggs · 04/02/2011 21:30

It's nice. I'd rather go out with a Heath than a Harry - it has bit of a cool, rugged thing going on, whereas Harry's a bit cute.

Chocolocolate · 04/02/2011 22:33

Heath is lovely.

What middle names are you thinking?

anonymosity · 05/02/2011 01:04

You do know that both River Phoenix and Heath Ledger died in drug-related circumstances?Don't those names make you think about that a little bit?

Choco, I still don't know about the mn! Probably a family name therefore something quite traditional, or perhaps Heath can become the mn, not sure! It's just getting the balance right with the way it flows & there's 3 syllables in the surname so single or double syllable names work best with it. Ideas???!!!

Anonymosity, I have to admit I've never thought of drug related death when I think of the name Heath! He wouldn't be named after Heath Ledger and there are plenty of other Heath's in this world!

TheSecondComing, not sure what you mean by salesman-y?! But fair enough!

Any other thoughts on male nature names that aren't too "out there"!

LaTristesse · 05/02/2011 11:27

I like it, although round my way it would get pronounced Heaf, which would piss me off...

LaTristesse · 05/02/2011 11:28

My DH liked Forest when we were looking for a name. Any good?

hoosyermama · 05/02/2011 18:23

Grin Heaf! There's always the risk of that! I love Forest, great suggestion! Any others? Pref one or two syllables!

Don't like it. Love Daisy though.

Daisy and Rowan

hoosyermama · 05/02/2011 19:53

I DO love Rowan, pronounced Ro-an? Rather than ROW-an iyswim! Grin Surname ends in n so I tend to avoid n ending names (& so many good ones!) but it actually sounds quite good with the surname... Hmmm
