Help needed! Only really have Edward so far. Would love some other ideas!

Edmund.

I know an Amelie with a little brother called Reuben.

Evan, Edward and Luca are all lovely too.

CaveMum · 11/01/2011 15:36

Sorry, don't mean to be rude, but why is it important that siblings names "go together"?

Surely they are individuals, not a twin set!

I don't mean any offence by it, I am genuinely interested to hear people's reasons.

Louis or Louie

clippityclop · 11/01/2011 16:12

Jake? Don't know why, just sounds nice after the other name which has lots of sylabuls?

Ed's great thought!

JustForThisOne · 11/01/2011 16:24

love Tristan but my all time fav for boy is Benjamin

Nagoo · 11/01/2011 16:26

Noah was the first one I thought of for Amelie.

DefNotYummyMummy · 11/01/2011 16:28

Oscar

googoomama · 11/01/2011 16:30

What about Luca?

LouCracker · 11/01/2011 16:32

My first thought was Louis too (prob. because I know sibling Amelie and Louis). I think Edward is lovely though.

I don't think it's a matter of the names 'matching' so much, CaveMum..it's just the sound of them together.

I have a Rachael, and really wanted to name my son Mitchell. As I imagined calling them in the park I changed my mind (although I did use it for a middle name)

time4chocolate · 11/01/2011 16:48

You're right about having to consider older siblings name, I have a daughter Eve, however, my favourite boys name is Adam!!! needless to say I had to pick another name for my son when he came along.

drivingmisscrazy · 11/01/2011 16:54

despite my confusion about names that go together (I can see the case against adam and eve, or names that have the same sound - although some people seem to go for this...) I too had thought of Oscar.

hatsybatsy · 11/01/2011 17:14

actually i think James does still work.

If OP likes Edward, then traditional boys' names might be the way to go?

henry
george
william
james
robert
edwin

I love the names Charlie (can be Charles on the birth certificate) and Alfie (Alfred), and I think both go very nicely with Amelie, although Charlie is probably better as it French origin, and old school. For the record, I love the name Amelie, very pretty.

Lotster · 11/01/2011 17:16

The first two names I thought of for Amelie were George, and Tom.

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 11/01/2011 18:09

I have an Amelie and lurking with interest as DC3 (poss a boy) is due any day now. Lots of our shortlists have made this thread - I love George but DH says it's a naughty name (we're both teachers and many names are off limits because of the naughtiness of children we've taught! :o)

Also love Tom but that's my DH's name.

Think Matthew is a good'un too...

hillmanfamily · 11/01/2011 18:12

Jean-Paul, Jean-Luc, Edouard, Etienne, Thierry,
Eugene, Sacha, Serge, Anton, Axel, Emil?

KittyFoyle · 11/01/2011 18:18

I know an Amelie and Hugo with a baby brother called Sebby.

mrsfudgely · 11/01/2011 18:31

I have Amelie and William. William was the only name DH and I could agree on .DH wanted Victor.

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 11/01/2011 18:57

Shhhh ~ don't tell my DD I forgot the accent on her name Blush

Trying again; I have an Amélie. For #3 we're thinking of Fraser Robert or Patrick James (PJ) or Elodie Anne (or some other middle name)...

missymousie · 11/01/2011 19:04

Tristan would be lovely
