I don't like it. It sounds like triste and priss and cissy.

I prefer Christian. similar sound but stronger.

ps, I'm in Ireland. Funnily enough 'Isolde' (and Iseult) have caught on here, they would be chosen by the type of mum who might choose Esme or Dulcie in the UK (if that makes sense). But I've not come across a Tristan child.

Valium has hit the nail on the head.

Thank you all for your comments...however part of me wish i'd never posted this thread Grin Grin....I must be one of the few people who don't think it's a frilly name...!

Not sure what to do...Confused will have to think about it. At this rate if DC is a DS will be called James....! Nice but a bit dull IMO

"I must be one of the few people who don't think it's a frilly name...!"

Well, if you don´t think that it is,isn´t that all that matters?

And just because some think it is, it doesn´t make it so!

I think it's a fine name.

People thinking it's frilly are recalling either Tristan in All Creatures Great & Small (not that Peter Davison was frilly really), and "Tristram" who was the posh bespectacled little boy (with page-boy haircut) who lived next-door in the sitcom George & Mildred back in the 70's.
