Both!

thumbplumpuddingwitch · 15/12/2010 23:21

Both, slightly more on the first, maybe.
nice name if you're Irish

aristomache · 15/12/2010 23:22

Tan eg fnnTAN

MissAnthropy · 15/12/2010 23:22

Both. Like it but it's a Fin name and they're v popular here atm. Don't know about where you are.

CheerfulYank · 15/12/2010 23:44

I thought it was sort of both, treetrunk. :) MissAnthropy I'm in the US (midwest) and the "Fin" names are not huge here. I know one Finley; she's a girl.

I think "Finn" might explode though, given the popularity of Glee here.

I sort of guessed you were in the US. Grin

Balonder · 15/12/2010 23:52

In Ireland, the first syllable is emphasised - FINtan

auntyfash · 16/12/2010 10:50

I'd go with the Fin being emphasised more too.

seeker · 16/12/2010 10:52

FIN-tan.

I suspect that if you don't know, neither will anyone around you and you'd be best to avoid the name.

3nearly4 · 16/12/2010 10:55

FIN-tan

I have a Finlay pronounced FIN-lay but I do tend to call him Fin most of the time.

I really like Fintan!

CheerfulYank · 16/12/2010 16:01

Well all right then, seeker. :o If we go with this for our (yet to be conceived, I might add :)) DS, he would be called Finn most of the time anyway.

FINtan definitely. Been calling a member of my family that for 20 years!
