sisters - one a "K" and one a hard "C"

Just trying to figure out if this would be an issue for anyone as I was surprised by DH's reaction.

We have one little girl with a "C" name that could as easily / traditionally be spelled with a "K". Think Catherine, but not.

We are trying for #2 and were just casually discussing / imagining our future family and what C's little brother or sister might be called should we be so lucky.

My suggestion for a girl's name was another name that could be spelled with either a "K" or a "C", but for this name I prefer the "K" spelling because it would be in honor of someone and they spelled it with a K. I also just like the look of it better with a K.

So I was imagining two little girls named Catherine and Kerry, for example, rather than Catherine and Carrie. DH thinks that as we went with the "C" version for one name we should go with the "C" version for the other. This would never have occurred to me so I'm just curious as to whether anyone else would even notice or think it was odd to have siblings named Catherine and Kerry, or Katherine and Carrie, or Kara and Cate, or Geoffrey and Jorge.

I'm expecting to be told that this is an incredibly dumb question, which I know it is, and no it isn't the biggest thing I have to worry about (if only), but if you can't ask on a baby names forum, where can you ask?

... I know that Carrie and Kerry are different names really, but just looking for an example that's not the real one.

Would never occur to me to notice tbh :)

I personally would avoid any names that have that confusion.
I don't like using same initials for any other family members because of confusion with post (if only initial plus surname)

and having a K where there's a C in the other child would confuse the children (although when they get older it would make sense)

but i do know a Georgia and Jordan family, so...

I wouldn't notice if you had a K name and a C name.

We have siblings with Q and a C and have had no problems. I wouldn't worry about it.

I know brothers Jack, George and James, no probs.

I actually think that it's better to have one with a C and one with a K; it helps to distinguish the names if you have different initials.

Thanks everyone - I appreciate you all taking the time to weigh in on such an inconsequential little dilemma! :)

I'd go with the K myself, plus if you prefer it and it honors a family member there's your answer!
I aways find it rather irritating when a family choose a letter and all their children start with that, drives me up the wall! Haha! Good luck persuading DH! x
