We've finally chosen Juliette. Would really like one or two mn. But v stuck. We have a traditional, common English surname. So feel free to go wild!

Juliet Ellen
Juliet Eloise
Juliet Catherine (lol, nod to the engagement)
Juliet Elizabeth
Juliet Mary
Juliet Marianne
Juliet Pearl
Juliet Joy (jj but I like it)
Juliet Maeve

I love Juliet but please spell it Juliet not Juliette, as it looks silly with those extra letters.

Greenwing · 20/11/2010 16:20

Congratulations! What a pretty name!
Since you have chosen a French spelling instead of the English Juliet, how about keeping in the same style?:

Juliette Marie
Juliette Louise
Juliette Madeleine
Juliette Sophie
Juliette Anne
Juliette Camille
Juliette Helene
Juliette Lucie
Juliette Mireille
Juliette Nicole

or choose the middle name after a loved family member (grandmother?) or favourite friend?

LouMacca · 20/11/2010 16:31

Sorry no suggestions just wanted to say I love Juliette!

Esmee · 20/11/2010 17:07

Lovely name :) I know a Juliette Clementine.

Can anyone tell me how to pronounce Mireille?

Vallium does have a point about using Juliet. Not that Juliette looks silly, it's one of the standard spelling AFAIK and lovely, but with pronunciation.

In the language I speak on a day to day basis (and in a lot of other languages too, I suspect) Juliette wouldn't be pronounced Juliet but very much like Julietta which I don't think is what you intend. The world is getting smaller every day and by the time she's an adult...

Juliette Helene is beautiful.

typsical · 23/11/2010 20:14

Juliette Rosalie (not sure where that came from, but I like it!)

FerminaUrbinoDaza · 23/11/2010 20:18

Mmm, just googled, in French you here the 'extra' end letters as well. Here, they aren't as pronounced as they are here be certainly there.

MuffinMouse · 23/11/2010 20:21

Actually I love Guilietta but DH prefers Juliet. Do we get the best of both with Juliette?

(Isn't there a Guilietta Alfa Romeo advertised at mo? Apparently I'm not allowed a car name!)

MuffinMouse · 23/11/2010 20:27

Thanks Fermina that helps. Sticking with Juliette, I think.

I'm now totally confused as to how you're going to pronounce it, sorry Confused. It's not you, it's me (ex-pat-itus). Could you illuminate me.

If you're pronouncing Juliette 'Juliet' then, no, it's not the best of both worlds. If pronouncing it 'Julietta' then yes, but a lot of potential for confusion in the UK.

Personally I prefer Giulietta / Julietta / Juliette to Juliet. It's beautiful but harsher.

AphraBen · 24/11/2010 00:37

What about something left field for middle name, like

jonesybells · 24/11/2010 11:15

Juliet is said differently to Juliette

Juliet is said Julie -ut (cut short iyswim )

Juliette is said Julie -ett (emphasis on the phonetic 'e')

hope I explained that ok - it sounds right in my head anyway!!

MuffinMouse · 25/11/2010 21:51

Loving Juliette Sylvie Helene at the moment.

Also love Juliette Marianna

but DH prefers Juliette Marianne, as this mn is his sister's, who he adores.

I think something similar is better, rather than her actual name. IYSWIM??
