Dh is really liking this as an option for DC2.

What do you think?

I like it spelt Annabel only.

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 17/11/2010 16:20

What Edmundo said. Lovely name btw.

Lovely name Smile. I like Annabelle spelling! We have an Isabel and I often wished we'd gone for Isabelle. Not that it matters really though - they still sound the same!

kiwidreamer · 17/11/2010 16:27

A bit fluffy for me but nothing really wrong with it

PGWomble · 17/11/2010 17:15

Lovely. Especially spelt Annabelle.

Psammead · 18/11/2010 09:38

Like it a lot. It's in my personal top ten! No spelling preference.

Ineedsomesleep · 18/11/2010 09:50

Prefer Annabel.

i love the name Annabel, well i would as that dd2's name. when we decided the mw said that she has not heard that one for a long time. made me think that its not too popular yet. think its one of those names that is coming round though

stripeybumpsmum · 18/11/2010 10:00

DD is Annabelle. We get a lot of positive comments and have only met one other. I think other belle names and Anna are more popular. Picked it because we liked the sound of it and the option of lots of nn but generally she is known by full name. It just suits her.

Re spelling, there wasn't much in it between Annabelle and Annabel - just liked the connotations with belle for beautiful I suppose. That said, we get Annabelle, Annabel, Anabel but by far most common is Annabell.

yackityyak · 18/11/2010 10:20

My DD is Annabel - she's 11 and still love the name. We do get a variety of wrong spellings though. Wouldn't be bothered by "belle" in Annabelle meaning "beautiful" as it's rather superficial. However was swayed by the meaning of Annabel in my baby names book, coming from the old French "Amabel" meaning "lovable" - much nicer.
