I've hormonally told my 11 year old dd that she can choose the middle name of her baby brother. BUT I did say 'within reason'. Anyone else done this? good/bad result? She is really pleased and reading all the name books. Hope she doesn't set her heart on something vile!

We have told DS he can choose his sisters middle name from a shortlist of our 3 favourites. Luckily he has picked the one me and DH love. DS is only 2.9 though but we wanted him to be involved.

Unless you want your DD to pick something that fits in with whatever she is into (I would dread to think what I would have come up with at that age whilst wildly obsessed with various celebs) I would give her a shortlist.
