I love it!!!!!don't be boring & just go for it! no-one uses or hears a middle name much anyway

GeorgeOsborne · 03/11/2010 13:12

I think it's lovely.

Hedwig3 · 03/11/2010 14:40

Definitely use Snowdrop as second middle name.

KERALA1 · 03/11/2010 14:43

Personally think middle names are utterly pointless nobody in everyday life knows or cares what your middle name is so think you can be as way out and wacky as you want. Why not Snowdrop its cute. She can always quietly drop it when shes older. Greta is fine - non embarrassing and not over common.

mathanxiety · 03/11/2010 16:35

I love it, and also love Greta Eirlys.

Greta is a beautiful name -- I've never met one who wasn't lovely. I think the Nordic aspect of it makes it perfect for a winter baby. And Snowdrop is unique and really sweet.

FIMBOfedupofrandomfireworks · 03/11/2010 16:43

Greta was my grandmothers's sister and she was horrible old witch of a woman.

I will leave my thoughts on Snowdrop to myself.

I think you should choose Holly Noelle

POFAKKEDDthechair · 03/11/2010 18:51

Greta Garbo though is a rather fantastic Greta. I think Greta could be due a comeback. But Snowdrop just sounds like Watership Down. Greta is a strong name. Don't fluffy it up so much.

itwasSHAMEFUL · 03/11/2010 18:59

Greta Eirlys is a great suggestion.

theagedparent · 03/11/2010 19:03

I love it! I know a Tabitha Trouble which is a little odd but quite nice

POFAKKEDDthechair · 03/11/2010 19:13

Greta Eirlys bloody wonderful.

LadyThompson · 05/11/2010 13:29

Well, I think Greta Snowdrop is absolutely beautiful for a January baby.

Komondor · 05/11/2010 13:40

I love Greta Snowdrop.

I've been sneaking onto this forum at work, since I found out I was pregnant, for inspiration, and Greta Snowdrop is my favourite yet.

My traditionalist DH would never allow the name though.

bundlebelly · 05/11/2010 15:20

Gretel Snowdrop is better!

LetThereBeRock · 05/11/2010 16:34

It's a lovely name for a show pony.

Faaamily · 05/11/2010 16:34

Greta is gorgeous. Snowdrop is odd.

Ishouldhavechosenagoldfish · 06/11/2010 09:00

Eirlys is lovely I might steal it. there is also Narcissus, Hyacinth, and that little pink one that grows under trees beginning with C that my pregnant brain can't remember the name of.

POFAKKEDDthechair · 06/11/2010 09:34

Narcissus? Are you serious?

And Hyacinth? As in Bucket?

Ishouldhavechosenagoldfish · 06/11/2010 12:10

Well, if we're going down the route of January flowering flowers... I've just remembered, it's Cyclamen. Wink

Greta is fab-in my not so humble opinion! DD is due in January, and we (well, I!) as soon as the sex was confirmed, opted for Greta Rose Isobel. H likes it, but has a preference for Olivia out of the two. I think Greta is a name that can "grow"-it is sweet for a little girl and a bit kittenish/sexy for a woman-think the actress,Greta Saachi :-)
