Josephine or Iris

I've already posted 'bout Josephine, I particularly like the nn Posy.

Howeer, one of my all-time favourite names is Iris, cool and classy I feel, less cutesy than the very sweet Posy and needs no nickname.

I've already got a Violet so would that be a charming floral combo or too twee? My feeling is it doesn't really matter but I'd be interested to hear opinions.

Be so much easier if baby's a boy, dd and I have both been set on Hector ever since expecting dd1.

funny, Teapot, dh suggested Josephine, and I had never really thought of it as an option as I don't really go for boys cum girls' names, but I think this is due for revival.Dh was dead set on Daphne, which I still love, for ages (unusual for a big burly old bloke to go for that) but going off it now.

Both are really lovely.

Not keen on Posy as a nn though - v. girly (but I'm one of the minority who doesn't do frilly names - everyone seems to have gone frilly name mad!)

love violet and iris but.... not together - i do think 2 flower names is a bit much.

so i would go for josephine of your 2 choices - but don't really like posy as nn? josie much nicer IMO

Iris is not that popular - only just over 200 born in 2009, and Josephine had 160 ish, so not much in it.
I agree not Violet and Iris together.
