I love Esme but DH doesn't want to use a contraction. Is there anything other than Esmerelda out there?

Esme is a name in it's own right? Your dH does understand that, no?

othersideofchannel · 28/10/2010 17:28

I'd say Esmeralda - I like it.

lollipopshoes · 28/10/2010 17:29

Esme deffo a name in itself.

MissHavishamsDress · 28/10/2010 17:29

Agree with others, Esme is most definitely not a contraction. It's a name.

weepootle · 28/10/2010 19:52

Renesmee?

sorry, couldn't resist it, lol.

As already said by everyone else - most definitely a name in it's own right.

Lovely - thanks for the ammunition, mumsnet!

Well it's a Scottish female form of Edward!

So, Edward?

MelinaM · 30/10/2010 23:57

My friends little girl is Esme Oriana, beautiful name on it's own! Esmerelda reminds me of 'Hunchback of Notre Dame'! x

icapturethecastle · 31/10/2010 00:02

Was wondering if anyone would say Renesmee - just makes me think of a scary baby with teeth! Esme is a beautiful name no need to lenghten I think. One of my favourite stories "for esme with love and squalor"

pilotinspector · 31/10/2010 01:45

Sorry but Esme is so totally overused here (SW England).
