I quite like Jasmine. Beatrice is ok, not my cup of tea but a perfectly good name all the same. Not fond of Millie as a real name. If you pick that I think you should call her Amelia. Also there are a lot of Millies/Amelias about at the moment so it depends on how you feel about choosing a very popular name. Of the three I like Jasmine best.

Jasmine.

Going against the grain, Jasmine looks and sounds common/chavvy to me, sorry. Beatrice I love but probably wouldn't have the courage to use it myself, and Millie is far too popular these days for me.

LaDiDevilDiDie · 23/10/2010 18:51

I'm not keen on Millie tbh. Jasmine and Beatrice are both nice and I really like the nicknmaes Bea and Trixie so Iwould go for Beatrice.

I have to say that they are, imo, very different from each other iyswim.

Love Beatrice
Millie is far too common and doesn't sound like a real name.
Jasmine is pretty but not my cup of tea!

Millie is a babyish name. It is not a name for a sensible, grown up woman. Plus I don't see it as a real name, only a nickname.

Jasmine is beautiful.

I know a couple of grown up Milly/ies. It's a perfectly lovely name I would be thinking of using myself if it weren't so popular now. It has often been said before but the current fad for girly/flowery/cutesy names means that in 20 years time they will be perfectly acceptable adult names, and in 50 years they will be the old lady names again and our grandchildren will scoff at the thought of using them for their dcs.

CharlieBoo · 23/10/2010 20:07

I love Millie, and don't think its too babyish. There will be a whole generation of grown up Millie's! I would go with Amelia though or Emily.

How about Jemima? Love that one too.

I have a Millie (Millicent) and a Jasmine.

Raahh · 24/10/2010 12:31

I have a Millie (Millicent ) too- and she is not at all overly girly. The name really suits her, I think. Also, for all it is popular, I haven't come across any others round here. Oh, apart from one of the twins born on the same day as dd2 , she was a Millie, not short for anything. (Have a feeling after we spent all the time telling our Millie to behave herself, she may have gone home and changed it, though!Grin).

Love Beatrice (was on my list for dd2, but went with Philippa).

Not as keen on Jasmine, it is a different type of name to the other two, which are more old fashioned.

Lovely shortlist!

Jasmine will be Jazz, regardless of what you say or do, so consider whether you want this.

I hate Millie, windmillie comes to mind.

Beatrice is classy.
