Brother or sister for Ella

Hi everyone, I need your help!
Despite being obsessed with looking for names I just cannot think of any I like or that we agree on!
Big sister is called Ella with 3 syllable surname beginning with B.
For a girl I want a feminine and strong name.
For a boy, something strong and not too common.
(not much to ask, eh?)
If anyone can help it's you guys!
Thanks :)

A friend of mine has Sam and Ella, I laugh everytime I think of it Blush

rachel234 · 14/10/2010 14:37

Honestly, Sam and Ella, really Grin?

StrictlyOogieBoogiePumpkin · 14/10/2010 14:41

I know! In her defence she isn't from here so she doesn't get it but her DH is English and really should have said something!

mumbybumby · 14/10/2010 15:07

Oh no! Poor things!
My parents were cruel enough to burden my brother and I with the same embarrassing initial, which, when added to our surname spelled something rude!
I will never intentionally do any such thing to my children! :)

I have an Ella with a brother called Joseph ..am three weeks off number three and my names list is pretty much exactly what you had considered !!

I like Ava ...and I (obviously) like Joseph for a boy .....

saucetastic · 15/10/2010 10:44

I like the jaxx theme. How about a Django, Miles, Charlie, or as suggested earlier Louis?

mumbybumby · 15/10/2010 10:45

How odd duritzfan - Joseph was one of the only boy's names I had last time.
Good luck for three weeks' time - do you know what you're having?

I know an Ella with a sister called Mona.

mumbybumby · 15/10/2010 10:50

Saucetastic - unfortunately we are a little limited by DP's surname as it is a good old solid Yorkshire name and doesn't really go with anything too fancy or modern. I do like Charlie though but with DP's surname it sounds like he should be in a nursing home from the off!
Honestly, deciding on a name is nearly as hard as the actual bloomin' birth!

I have an Eleanor (known as both Ellie and Elle) and DD2 is Grace. Name is similar to Ella and I always thought their names go really nicely together.

sleepyhorse · 15/10/2010 11:13

Yes I agree with you BrigitBigknickers - I think Ella goes very well with Grace. Thumbs up to all of you with a Joseph - have decided to call my 2nd boy (due soon) Joseph!

saucetastic · 15/10/2010 11:19
Grin In that case, my Yorkshire Grandad's siblings names are all very sturdy and i think they're lovely: Annie Edith George Harry Daisy (Margaret) Arthur Though, some of those names could head to the nursing home on their own steam!
Spookberries · 15/10/2010 13:14

I know 6 Ella's. They all have siblings, oddly enough!

Ella & Jack
Ella & Charlie
Ella, Daisy, and Alfie (Alfred I presume)
Ella & Will (William again presuming)
Ella, Henry, Finn, and Sophia or Sophie (can't remember baby's name Confused)
Ella & Faith

mumbybumby we have been told its a girl ....
When are you due ??

I had chosen a boys name by twenty weeks pg this time ... decided on Evan - still love it ..dh and I are still arguing over a girl's name ...

I love Ella with Grace too...
was supposed to be my Ella's middle name but my dd when she was born was tiny and jaundiced and wrinkly - premature - she just didnt look like a Grace !!
We called her Ella Hannah instead Smile

I like Sofia ..with an 'f' ... Like Max, but that's quite common around here.. LOVE Charlie but doesnt work with my surname...

I love the name Joseph ... my ds is 15 now and it has suited him from the minute he was born to now - he calls himself Joe most of the time ..his nickname is "J"

The other boys names I had on my list were Jai and Jed...

Duritzfan · 15/10/2010 13:26

RaisedFromPerdition LOVE the chicken's names !!!

I want chickens one day ... want to call them Nugget and Kentucky
