We still haven't decided on a name....throwing another one into the mix. When you see the name Cleo do you think of a female straight away? Can you see a Cleo as a grown confident successful woman? Have you heard of any baby girls named Cleo? Does it make you think of a Clio car or a cat or do you think of it as a beautiful name???!!
Just seeing what the general consensus is. Thanks in advance! Smile

I like it, I know a teenage Cleo and never heard anyone say anything bad about her name, as far as I know she loves her name!

SparklyJules · 08/10/2010 20:47

Beautiful - I first came across it at work (law firm) where I met one of the partners called Cleo, so I always associate it with a strong, successful woman!

I really, really love this name and wanted it for DC2 (DH not keen and it was a boy anyway)

BUT...

just to warn you there is a pelvic floor excercise thingy by the same name.

Personally I don't think that would stop me using it though. (the name not the pelvic floor excerciser though I could probably do with the latter)

I loved it and wanted to use it for DD3 but DH said no Sad

It's fab. I considered Cliodhna with Clio nn but it's too close to my sister's name.

mummamango · 08/10/2010 22:10

DEFINITELY spell it Cleo!

thell · 09/10/2010 11:33

Excellent.
I met a girl called Cleo when a teenager at youth theatre. She was fab, and we all thought her name was very cool. Then we met her mum, and she was very cool too. Love it!

TooImmature2BMum · 09/10/2010 18:55

Oooh, I really like Cliodhna! I like the spelling Cleo better than Clio, though - Clio really does look like the car to me.

NorbertDentressangle · 09/10/2010 18:58

I know a Cleo who is about 12/13.

I think its a lovely name but definitely spell it Cleo, as Clio is the car

Faaamily · 09/10/2010 19:34

Gorgeous. Was on our list for DD.

MrsC2010 · 09/10/2010 22:43

Like it.

dolcegusto · 09/10/2010 23:38

Love it. It's a beautiful name

otchayaniye · 11/10/2010 19:01

I like it, and it's a possible choice in the future. It's a family name anyway (I have only used family names)

Thissideofchannel · 13/10/2010 11:27

Is Cleo short for Cleopatra?

sophiesmummie · 13/10/2010 13:12

Yes, Cleo is of Greek origin and short for Cleopatra. Lovely!

messylittlemonkey · 14/10/2010 18:41

yes, like it

ravenAK · 14/10/2010 18:51

I wanted Clio (the muse of History...) for dd1, but reluctantly abandoned it for fear everyone would think she was named after the car.

Cleo's great. Smile.

florencerusty · 15/10/2010 15:59

Beautiful

chickentwizzler · 15/10/2010 16:30

I'm in the minority, and dislike it. I immediately think of a Renault Cleo.

I prefer Kiera or Clara. Although appreciate these are not much like Cleo. If you love it go with it, it seems like most people on here like it.
