Will is a word not a name imo "Will, will you...) and I agree that the Willy connection is too tempting for silly schoolchildren.

Jake is ok, but I hadn't heard of the loo association.

Definately Will.

Will but William with Will as a shortened name. Love it:). was one of our final 3 for my ds - and is now the name of a good frien'ds 3rd ds (all with gorgeous names with shortenings like Will

William/Will is a damn fine name! Where there's a Will there's a way :)Shakespeare...Wordsworth and many more very unsleazebaggy examples besides. As for the Willy thing...Although I would steer clear of that nickname, I must say I never think of a dong when I hear the name Willy Nelson.

Jake is a great name. Full of personality. Cool but still well known.

Will is very boring and way too royal!

I'm not that keen on either nicknames, to be honest.

I do like Jacob though.

p.s. the little William in dd's class does sometimes get called Willi - little boys can be quite silly.
