Having a hard time deciding on names. The middle name will be Luna after my grandmother.

They are all very pretty but are you sure you want both names to end in the same sound? It is a little sing-song.

Lstone · 26/09/2010 00:51

Yes I know what you mean about the sing-songy bit. Middle name could also be Harriet after the same grandmother. DH likes Tessa but I'm not sure if it is strong enough. He thinks Cecilia is old fashioned and doesn't like that it means "blind". Those are our top two right now.

What do people think of the first names on their own? Thanks!

I like Cecelia.

BuntyPenfold · 26/09/2010 01:02

I like Tessa.

MrsMadWriggle · 26/09/2010 01:07

All lovely. (And I don't mince my words.). Georgia is probably a little too popular for my liking. Of the others, Tessa is my fav.

I do like Luna better than Harriet. I'm kind of funny about names. No sing=song and go easy on the L's. Cecilia Luna has too many for me but I like the 3 then 2 number of syllables better than 2 syllable/2syllable combo.

MissHavishamsDress · 26/09/2010 05:11

Cecilia is my favourite - although it does mean blind. I prefer Cecily, though.

I love the name Luna - has a mysterious glow - was already planning to use it as a mn. I would also be tempted to use it as a first name.

Tessa is also lovely but seems like a nickname

Georgia I also like very much - very pleasing to say the double 'dz' sound.

Eva/ Eve/ Evie etc not so keen as too many where I live - although the name is pretty enough per se.

Cecilia Luna very pretty indeed.

(I'm considering Daphne Luna for future dd)

I like Cecilia a lot. It may mean blind, but St. Cecilia is the patron saint of music -- that kind of evens things out in my view.

arfasleep · 26/09/2010 08:25

really like Georgia, but yes, don't think both names ending in same sound is good. Georgia Harriet would be good, imo

littleoldme · 26/09/2010 08:29

Eva is beautiful name but beaware that it is very popular. I know eight little girls with names derived from Eve. It may not be an issue for you , I speak as the mother of one of four Thomas james' that I know, but it's something to think about.
Ds has a friend called Tessa and she's gorgeous, that's my fave.

jabberwocky · 26/09/2010 08:42

Daphne Luna is really lovely.

deliakate · 26/09/2010 08:42

love tessa too. In fact, the only name on ur list i don't like is cecelia - imagine if the child had a lisp . . .

smilingserenely · 26/09/2010 09:15

cecelia can also mean lily of heaven love it but dh didn't .also agree with those who've mentioned the problem it would cause if she were to have a lisp.

Doozie · 26/09/2010 16:11

All lovely, but my vote is for Cecelia.

Bue · 26/09/2010 16:40

Tessa.

I prefer Harriet over Luna as a middle, as I find two A endings a bit frilly.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 26/09/2010 16:42

Eve, Eva, Evie , Ava type names all v v v popular, she could easily be one of many
