sorrell I think?

BuntyPenfold · 20/09/2010 16:40

One L I think.
I know a little Sorrel; a name that occurs in Noel Streatfeild.
One of my favourite flower names, until someone said 'Sorrow?'

HerHonesty · 20/09/2010 19:02

bump...any other thoughts?

I like this, also because of the Streatfield book, but actually can't say it properly.

MogTheForgetfulCat · 20/09/2010 19:46

I love this, but someone I know said it sounded too much like 'sorrow' which was a bit Sad. I still like it though.

PeasPlease · 20/09/2010 19:53

Love it. After reading the likeness to 'sorrow' though i would think twice...

nannynobnobs · 20/09/2010 19:54

It makes me think of horses.

A1980 · 20/09/2010 22:41

I know a Sorrell and she spells it with two l's.

Rhubarbgarden · 21/09/2010 07:54

I like it. One L though. With two it looks made up rather than floral i think.

thell · 21/09/2010 08:02

The herb is spelled with one L.
I like it.
I also like Laurel, which doesn't have the 'sorrow' connection, if that worries you.

Bue · 21/09/2010 12:07

Sorrell is a surname.

For a first name (like the herb) it should definitely be one L. I love it, v. pretty.

Greensleeves · 21/09/2010 12:08

Not if you live in Devon - they will pronounce it Sorrow

morethanyoubargainfor · 21/09/2010 12:10

i really like Sorrell.

Is it just a girls name?

or could it be used for a boy?

Patsy99 · 21/09/2010 14:16

It's a great name, different but not ridiculous.

expectingno3 · 21/09/2010 14:50

I absolutely love the names Sorrell and Laurel but alas, with a sirname begining with R it is a bit of tongue twister!
Theres always Soren for a boy, which is nice.
