Rosalia - What do you think?

Opinions please. Is this too much of a 'try hard' name that is a bit of a mouthful. It is Italian for Roses and Lillies and there was a St Rosalia Grin

I have always liked Rosalee (not actually sure how you spell it) and this isn't that much different.

Nice and a bit different I think, especially as it isn't something you have just made up by putting 2 names together. Thats the ones I don't like and are too 'try hard'.

minipie · 15/09/2010 10:11

It's pretty but I prefer the slightly simpler Rosalie (Rosalia is just one too many syllables to say easily!)

BuntyPenfold · 15/09/2010 10:12

I like it, but does it rhyme with 'liar'?
Or rhyme with Amelia?
I really like Rosaline.

My Sicilian grandmother was called Rosaria, if that helps at all.

DastardlyandSmugly · 15/09/2010 10:18

It's pronounced Rosaleah. I know someone with this name but she's not very nice so it would put me off but without the association it's quite pretty.

I really like it! I also really love Rosalie but mainly because I am obsessed with Twilight!! Grin

thedollyridesout · 15/09/2010 10:28

Rosanna is nicer IMO

liliputlady · 15/09/2010 19:41

It's pretty.
I LOVE Rosanna though!

Caro1302 · 15/09/2010 20:16

I like it but much prefer Rosalie.

facebook · 15/09/2010 21:15

I like it but again I prefer Rosalie or just Rose or rosanne.

MadameCastafiore · 15/09/2010 21:16

Sounds like some sort of disease!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 15/09/2010 21:16

Prefer Rosalie, all throughout my pregnancy with DD she was going to be called Rosalie.
Bizarrely I called her Elizabeth in the end. Confused
Ah well maybe next time Wink

NoSleepTillWeaning · 15/09/2010 21:21

Did remind me too of Roseola, childhood disease. Sorry....
