Yeah - I can see what you are getting at. You never know, if my baby does end up with one of those names, she may think of her own womens movement.

Florence - and the Machine
Phylisia - too like a STD I can't spell
Esther - Ransen
Beatrix - Potter
Edith - old granny type lady of Edith Bowman(DJ)

Florence - lovely name. Lots of lovely nn potential. I hear a lot on MN that it is getting very popular but I don't know of another in rl . It would have been DS's name had he been a DD (which on the basis our surname is Cameron, would NOT have been a good thing Hmm)

Physilia - awful..... STI at worst, plant at best

Esther - ok. Bit too biblical for my tastes

Beatrix - pretty but prefer Beatrice

Edith - really like. Similar to Florence imo

Well Phylisia is definately off my possible list [Grin}. Thanks for all your feedback so far. I am now 11 days over and still restless, so if you are not too bored of this thread yet - keep them coming Grin

Florence - beautoful name; my fave name if I were to have another girl one day myself

Phylisia - reminds me of the fruit with similar name

Esther - harsh sounding

Beatrix - not particularly keen

Edith - I quite like this

Florence -- tons of them; I hate Florrie and Flo as nns. It's a sweet name but I think it's very 'of the moment'.
Phylisia -- very glad this is no longer in contention
Esther -- Lovely
Beatrix -- Lovely
Edith -- Lovely

Esther is pleasant. Prefer Beatrix to Beatrice. Florence is fine and has good connotations but it will become very popular.

Not keen on the others, one reminds me of a WAG type name and the other knobbly knees and osteoporosis, for some reason, possbibly Piaf.

Try not to worry too much about the name. Inspiration may strike after you have had her.

Florence - lovely but suspect will be v popular for girls this year
Phylisia - no
Esther - hmmm, i think i like it
Beatrix - prefer beatrice
Edith - no, sorry

sorry to add another one but what about Felicia?
