How would you pronounce Seren?

I would rhyme it with Derren too. Can't think of any other way to put it.

It's not quite to rhyme with Derren. There's a little bit more emphasis on the second syllable. Hard to explain! Derren is sort of DE-run while Seren has also got the stress on the first syllable but a definite E sound on the second. SE-ren. Don't know if that makes any sense it all. We are Welsh and there's a Seren in our family.

my welsh friends daughter is called Seren - and we all (including her and her family) pronounce it to rhyme with Derren.
It means star in welsh and is a really pretty name - seems to be getting more popular.

There's a lot of Welsh in my family (my grandmother and all her side of the family) although I am English. I think it's such a pretty name and I'd love to use it to honour my Welsh side.

Almost used it for DD as a middle name - but it clashed with her first name, or rather made her sound like a poor imitation of a movie star (no pun intended).

I have a 2010 French baby names book and Séren is there, I think meaning serene, I am trying to pursuade French speaking DH, but he got wind of the Welsh connection and we have none...so he said no...

My friend's niece is Seren. She says it is Welsh for Star. It is a nice name anyway. I think it is like Derrun only with a Welsh accent.
