Is that a real name? Reminds me of Lynsey Lohan (Lilo). Sorry.

Bumbler · 31/08/2010 22:10

Yes, it's a real name.

It sounds like a pet name. Not a name for an adult woman.

FerminaUrbinoDaza · 31/08/2010 22:12

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo

MollysChambers · 31/08/2010 22:14

How about Lyla or Leila?

seaturtle · 31/08/2010 22:15

How is it pronounced? It reminds me of Leeloo which was the name of one of my guinea pigs, who was named after Leeloo in "The Fifth Element."

Despite that, I like this name. If I hadn't used it on a guinea pig I'd seriously consider it for a future child!

WetAugust · 31/08/2010 22:18

Frankly ridiculous!

Bumbler · 31/08/2010 22:19

In France it would be Leeloo but in England more like Li-lou.

Lila and Leila are also on my list!

My DP loves this name, specifically because of the 5th element.

I love it when it's said Li-lou, like Milla Jovovich - beautifully spoken with the emphasis on the lou.

But I was worried that it'd be said Lee-loo like you might say see-saw IFSWIM, which isn't nearly so pretty! (But then again I thought of reasons why not for 8 baby-names books worth of names!)

ReshapeWhileDamp · 31/08/2010 23:03

Sounds like a cat's name in French!

Don't much like it, sorry. Lydia? (top, absolutely favourite girl's name ever.)

Firawla · 31/08/2010 23:13

Makes me think of Lilou and stitch but it is quite nice

amaterasu · 01/09/2010 00:48

oh no! It sounds like a made up name like others ^^ have said - like from the fifth element! Lola is nice...and Leila

Just imagine a middle aged woman called Lilou ...just sounds a bit chavvy

sorry Smile

My husbands boss was called Madonna and it didnt suit her at all......apart from the fact that she was a bit of a diva and wanted everything her way Grin

mathanxiety · 01/09/2010 05:04

Beautiful, imo, really beautiful.

lifeinagoldfishbowl · 01/09/2010 07:16

Can you really imagine a barrister/doctor/scientist/fat grumpy teenager called this? Nope - try Lila or Leila.

pinkthechaffinch · 01/09/2010 07:19

Is it off Waybuloo?

sedgiebaby · 01/09/2010 07:42

Very popular in France at the mo, its cute for a little one, but for a grown up woman in business, I'm not sure how credible sounding it is.

MummyLovesSadie · 01/09/2010 07:42

It's a French name isn't it??? It's probably great in France (along with Elodie & Suzette) but doesn't sound quite right to my British ears. As the others have said, it would sound a bit ridiculous on a grown woman.

seeker · 01/09/2010 10:47

-ou names in french are usually diminutives aren't they? Could Lilou be short for Lila?

LaTristesse · 01/09/2010 10:59

I love it, I'd picture a middle aged woman called Lilou as being an arty creative type, not chavvy at all. If you like it, go for it, at least she won't be in a class with 10 others of the same name!

Makes me think of a blow-up lilo.

Not good - particularly if she turns out to be a bit chubby.

horatia · 01/09/2010 14:25

Yes, reminds me of a lilo.

WillowFae · 01/09/2010 14:56

pinkthechaffinch - my first thought was Waybuloo!
