What do you think of Shifrah / Shifra?
I suggested to dh last year and he hated it, but now he has suggested it and he thinks its 'his' suggestion Grin.
Dh saif it was lovely (I agree) and lends itself to the nn Franny (not sure if i agree, but can see it there, just!)

What do you think of Shifra and which spelling looks better (both are legit). Is Franny a daft nn, seems like it might be a bit of a stretch!

I much prefer all the names on your other lists!

It has a very nice meaning ("lovely" or "beautiful") but I think there are more mellifluous Hebrew names, if you want to go down that route. Shira (meaning "song" or "my song") is similar but I think has a nicer ring to it.

I prefer the Irish Siofra, pronounced Shee-fra.
Shifra is closer to chiffon, nn-wise, imo.

It's nowhere the nn Franny Hmm

reminds me of shamfer

I've never heard it before, but I like it. Prefer Shifrah.

This is my Hebrew name, so I like it! Although it has been spelled Shiphrah in my case.

HardertoKidnap - I pondered the Shiphrah spelling for a while, but dh prefers Shifrah for some reason! Lucky you - it is one of those names that I have always wished i had!

I worked with a very lovely Shiefra when I was a Saturday girl in a bakery. I like it a lot.
