Elliot?

Just pondering - Elliot is a great name but there don't seem to be any obvious abbreviations apart from Elly or El which obviously sound like girl's names.

Anyone think of any more?

I know 2 Elliots - one who does not abbreviate and one who is known as El.

How about Ottie. Bit 'out there' but sounds a bit more masculine possibly. Does he have to have a nn?

My Elliot is often El- it doesn't seem girly when in connetion with him, as he is so obviously a boy, iyswim.

NN often just happen, and most of the things we call him, are not really connected to him name.

His favourite NN is ELF, which came about through school- (his initials- first name, surname is 2 words L F). ) which he loves (for now anyway!!), and makes him very popular at Christmas!Grin

I really like Elliot and don't think it necessarily needs a nickname.

I know an Elliot who gets called Eeebee.
Elliot is a fantastic name, means the lord is my God and is a derivative of Elijah.
Wonderful name Grin

Lovely name, was on my list for DC4 if a boy as I like the meaning as per RunawayWife.

I know an elliot who is shortened to ET, though.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 15/08/2010 22:58

great name, ipersonally don't think el is too girly

Psammead · 16/08/2010 10:43

It's on my list for a possible future boy!

Top of my list too. It gets extra Kudos as it is not an easy name to shorted which I like, the only one nn I like would be Eli ( e- lie).
