... baby names that begin with the same letter as the little one's Mum and Dad?

I'm one of those saddo's who isnt even pregnant yet but still like to ponder baby names for DC2, should I steer clear of names beginning with S and L which are the initials of DH and I or does it not matter in the slightest??

It dorsnt matter!

I would, and have. Let the LO have their own unique identity. Besides, it avoids the confusion of receiving post addressed to Mr A PrettyCandles and Mr A PrettyCandles.

Not bothered about second name initial though.

I knew a family where the mum and dad had the same initial, so they thought it would be nice for the whole family to have the same initial. They had 4 dc, none of whom thanked them for it IYSWIM.

No. My brother and dad have the same initial... never bothered them.

NiceCuppaT · 09/08/2010 17:45

Doesn't matter and wouldn't really occur to me to notice, unless you are all the same ie Janet, John, James and Jane!
I dislike siblings with the same initials more.
Oh and patents that give their child their name!

Our DD will have the same initial as my husband but neither of our son's do. So he is Mr M XXXXXX and she will be Miss M XXXXXX so no postal mix ups! :)

DuelingFanjo · 09/08/2010 18:27

Yes.

both my DH and I have names begining with D so we are avoiding any names begining with D. Too confusing when they get older and also people might think we did it on purpose!
