why can't i think of any names?...

pg with dd2 and cannot think of any names that i love, and very few that i like.

have started a thread before on how awful dp's name choices are so am trying to ignore him as much as poss.

the names i don't mind are,

Mia
Amelie
lola
Daisy
Alanna

the only name i would really push for is alanna, but sp's sis went nuts when he mentioned it to her as she has apparently had it on her list for ages. (she is 20, no bf and no plans for dc for at least 10 years btw). now dp is saying he doesn't like it as it will get shortened.

i have looked at so many name websites my head is starting to spin

please help!

she's a kadie, so a bit too similar sounding

I had the same problem with dd2 - i'd used up my favourite ever girls name with dd1 and couldn't find one that i loved as much.

we had a shortlist of about 5 and in the end as soon as she was born we knew which one would suit her. stop thinking about it for a while as it will make your head spin!

Had the same problem as squeezyb used up my favourite name and didn't think I'd find another for DD2. After she was born (birth a bit traumatic) I decided that I wanted her to be named after my two grans. Now I can't imagine her being anything else!

Plus it's a name with loads of possibilities, classic and not overly popular just now, although seems to be getting more so.

Do you have anyone you would like to remember/honour??

In years when they ask why we chose their names DD1 will be told because we loved the name and DD2 that she was named after two remarkable women!
