Hi

Any thoughts on this name? We have an irish background and are tempted by this one.

I'm not sure whether it goes with our surname, starts with K and ends with D, almost the same as the famous make of blender.

Any irish views out there? It's not in the irish top 100....is it a no-no these days?

Thanks

I have seen Conal and I like that, it's not popular as far as I know. I know a Conlaith who goes by Con. I don't like Connell as it looks like part of a sur name.

I like Cathal too, but I have to force out of my mind the image of that revolting deluded paedophile poet who lives in Thailand, buying bicycles for 13 year old boys who give him bjs, then he writes poetry to defend himself.

Wow, that was a severe tangent.

I like Conal, spelled this way. From the sounds of things it will be fine with your surname.

Nice choice.

My uncle was called Connell - nickname Connie.

I really like it, it is a good strong name - not overly popular :-)

I like Conal (not Connell) a lot, also Con or Conn. Surnames as names are not really an Irish thing.

I like somewhat alliterated names too -- this happens a lot more in Ireland, I think, than in the UK. A 'C' first name and a 'K' surname would sound fine to my ear.
