How are you pronouncing Aisla?

I think Erin goes best with Lola

Ineedsomesleep · 21/07/2010 08:44

Erin and Harriett.

Maisy is a little girls name, it doesn't sound like a woman's name to me.

Aisla is unusual but not to my taste, but its not my baby

OnlyWantsOne · 21/07/2010 08:44

i - la

Erin is my favourite out of these - simple but very shimmery. Goes nicely with 4-lettered Lola too. Very different sounding but just as neat and not too cutesy (like Maisy) or too prim (like Harriet). IMHO!

BunnyLebowski · 21/07/2010 08:45

Erin - don't like. One of those fake Irish names that Americans call their kids. See also Shannon.

Aisla - not a name. Do you mean Ailsa? Or Isla?

Maisy - I like it in theory (it was my gran's name) but I think it's a bit too cutesy.

Harriet - I don't like as I have an aversion to 'posh' names.

Will think of possible names that go with Lola.

OnlyWantsOne · 21/07/2010 08:45

oh bugger... this doesnt help

Erin and Harriet are my suggestions, and Aisla is a family name for DP...

Erin.

My Dh has said we can't use it and I am

IPredictADiet · 21/07/2010 08:46

Harriet is lovely.
As ever, DH has vetoed it for current bump.

PaintingTheFence · 21/07/2010 09:25

Harriet and Maisy.

foreverastudent · 21/07/2010 09:31

Aisla is just going to lead to a lifetime of misspellings and mispronounciations.

Erin

because Maisy isn't a name for an adult and I don't like Harriet getting shortened to Harry esp given how many boys are Harry/Harrisons these days.

OnlyWantsOne · 21/07/2010 09:36

I quite fancied having a Hatty though

OP posts:
ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 21/07/2010 09:39

Out of all those I like Harriet best. Harriets I've known tend to be Hat or Hattie if they shorten it at all.

Umm... Esme? Maya? Matilda (Tilly)?

zenoushka · 21/07/2010 09:51

Erin goes really well with Lola.

MercyMe · 21/07/2010 10:44

Harriet love the nn Hatty

I really dislike Aisla - sorry!

Hedwig3 · 21/07/2010 19:00

Lola and Erin

proudfoot · 22/07/2010 01:36

Harriet

JeMeSouviens · 22/07/2010 03:07

Really love Erin and like Harriet (nn Hattie)

diddl · 22/07/2010 08:40

Like Harriet but think Maisie goes best with Lola.

vote 4 Harriet nn Hetty

valiumSingleton · 23/07/2010 09:59

Maisy goes well with Lola. (although Daisy is nicer)

I don't like Erin, harriet or that other name... Aslia

violetsmile · 23/07/2010 10:05

Aisla is beautiful but I must confess I prefer the Isla spelling but that's just for ease and less chance people will mispronounce it.

Not keen on Maisy, it's a cute name but one that she will outgrow by the time she's 4! Just sounds like a little girl's name to me but one that doesn't really translate will into adulthood.

I'd go with Aisla from all the names you have mentoned.
