Prefer Elsa

Love both! Sister in law is Elspeth, she is in her twenties, very cool, and it suits her loads! She is called Els mostly. Go with it! X

Love both! Sister in law is an Elspeth, she's in her twenties, very cool, and it suits her loads! She is mostly called Els for short. Go with it! X

I love Elspeth. Don't like Elsie, I think Elsie Tanner, sorry.

I like aslongas nickname of Eppie though.

Yes of course they are old lady names, most lovely ladies are now in their 80's and 90's with those names. its just the wheel is turning and its now their turn to be back in favour. I love elizabeth a little more than elspeth only as its easier to say and elsie is lovely. elizabeth or elisabeth is so versatile you can have so many nn including elsie!

WMDinthekitchen · 07/05/2012 21:33

Elspeth I like.

Elsie was the name of one of my aunts who would now be well over 100!

Elsa will forever be associated with a lioness (Born Free...)

Ismay (pronounced Izmay)? Esme (pronounced Ezmay)?

Love Elspeth!! I know a very trendy 22 year old one who goes by the nn Eppie Smile

Tessa617 · 08/05/2012 03:12

I like both of them: I know an Elsie - only thing her mother says is a lot of people think she must be a mis-spelled Elise. I would never have thought of that. Elspeth is nice but I think I prefer Elsa or (if you like all thinks Scottish) what about Ailsa?

This thread is nearly two years old.

I think the OP has probably made up her mind one way or the other by now. Grin
