Please see my latest revised shortlist none of which we 'love' I'm hoping for more suggestions please?

If you think you can suggest others please note my challenging critera :S

  • We have a pretty french surname (french-canadian DH) so I can't have anything too frilly or it sounds like a show-girl/burlesque artists name (in the UK anyway) its not 'la rouge' but it is not a million miles away. Lots of surname vowels mean that names ending in vowels often sound awful, e.g. Ella La Rouge = tongue twister and too frilly. This tends to makes me favour some unisex names
  • It does not have to be french/frenglish but has to be fairly easily pronounced by the french side of the family
  • Middle name is agreed as Grace due to special family connection to this name

we live in the UK, no plans to live in France/Canada so it doesn't have to be trendy in these countries (so that's one less thing to factor in!)

Claudia Grace
Ellis Grace
Elise Grace
Evangeline Grace
Merril Grace
Merrin Grace
Eloise Grace
Lowen Grace
Gisele Grace (not sure about the two G's but quite like gigi as a nn)
Mirielle Grace
(this is said Meer-ay in French, likely Mi-rell in english, don't mind this difference)

Thanks mathanxiety, but, oh dear, if I can't speell Mireille then there's not much mileage in that one methinks.

I really like Marin/Maren but DH didn't bite, Merrin he tolerated more I'm quite liking Anastasia (but don't like Anna) the others are not for me, but very many thanks for the suggestions.

ragged, I like Claudia, even more I love Claudie (said the French way is nicer 'clo-dee', but not going to happen with English speakers, but DH will persist/insist and then we will all will get confused, I can see it now...) that said claudia is still nice however, the meaning of Claudia puts me off I'm not sure I can get past it but otherwise soooo classy sounding...

Emmeline Grace.

I like all the names on your list except Merrin and Merril, just reminds me of Beryl.

Personally I'd avoid Evangeline too because of the popularity of Evie/Eva/Eve/Ava having said that, it is a lovely name.
