If you have hypothyroidism, do you or did you have tremors and if so were they just on the hands or other parts of the body? How would you describe them?

I'm asking on behalf of my daughter.

My dd does. No tremors

My daughter (21) does get the shakes but it helps when she eats small and often.

I have hypothyroidism and no tremors, however I am on levothyroxine and liothyronine medication so my hypothyroidism is treated. I used to have HYPERthyroidism and my first symptom was tremors, which obviously stopped once I started medication. Is your DD due a blood test? She may be over replaced and needs a dose reduction.

No she's not diagnosed and maybe doesn't have hypothyroidism but all her symptoms fit and I keep an eye on it and have her bloods done privately yearly. Her TSH is around 3.5, antibodies for hashimitos almost at the minimum range and there are autoimmune diseases in the family. She's been to her GP too and the thyroid is always ruled out but no other reason is ever found for symptoms.

I have essential tremor, had it from a teen (probably earlier).

Has she been referred to neurology for assessment?

Thyroid apparently always normal.

My daughter has Hashimotos and has tremours but endocrinologist thinks its her POTS - I would look into POTS for your daughter.

no not all the time - she went to a neurologist recently and hands weren't tremouring and he said if not being produced all the time not an essential tremour.

Have you looked at the test result scores against what the range is in other countries? My understanding is that UK range is much wider than almost all other countries and it’s a battle for many UK patients to get enough medication to adequately control their symptoms or even a diagnosis.
