Slow heart rate - Hashimoto’s

I have antibodies that indicate Hashimoto’s but my TSH is 2.4 and none of the big symptoms so no treatment.

I have a basic smartwatch, might not be very accurate in measuring heart rates, but taking pulse manually seems to agree with the watches measurements.

I keep getting periods throughout the day and night where it reads my heart rate as 40 or low 40s for periods of time - up to 20 mins or so at a time. I am not always asleep, though I would be inactive at the time like working on computer or sitting down.I am not athletic, a little overweight, in my 50s.

I can feel it, a funny sensation in my chest.
So is this normal? I’m wondering whether to mention it to the doc next visit or is it not a big deal.
I’ve read about bradycardia but think that might be a low heart rate all the time? Mine fluctuates day and night but the last few days it is more frequently going low and I can feel it.
Any advice appreciated.

Yes I’d mention it, but palpitations are a symptom of peri menopause too.

Hasimotos too here… I would mention it. And keep a regular eye on that tsh as it’s likely to go up over time and you’ll need treatment at some point. Have they also checked T4?

Yes mention it. My GP told me if my heart rate increases in proportion with activity and slows in proportion with rest and there's no dizzy spells or pain with any palpitations then it's working as it should be.

He also asked if I've always had a low heart rate. I said I didn't know until I got my smart watch. He asked if I get wheezy when I'm active. No I don't. He asked if I've always had a feeling in my chest and when does it happen. Turns out that was a psychological shock response to discovering how low my HR goes.

He pulled a funny face when I said "my smartwatch stats.." Top and bottom of it is that this is my normal and until I had a gadget to showcase that, I was blissfully unaware and just getting on with my life.... with a low resting heart rate.

Thanks everyone.
@DustyLee123 yes, and it feels a bit like the start of a hot flush, but without the hot part! I am 10 months now without a period so maybe will soon be menopausal .
@TheDotMatriX I don’t think I have T3/T4 done at all. The antibodies came up on bloods done for a dermatologist (alopecia).
@DatingDinosaur I think that’s probably what she’ll say to me too. I am conscious of a strong family history of heart disease on both sides, so combined with potential thyroid issues, which I think can also damage the heart, I suppose I need to keep an eye.
