Thyroid blood test results-help!

Hi There, looking for some help interpreting some thyroid blood test results. Based in the UK.

Background: Ever since I had my son two years ago I have had the following issues...swollen legs (worse in right ankle), exhausted, heavy periods, depression, thinning hair, brain fog, forgetting words and clumsy, tinnitus, dry skin, can't loose pregnancy weight, numb toes. Many things which have been written off as being a new mum.

Finally had my iron and b12 reviewed and whilst low end were deemed 'normal'. I have had three months of iron tablets and five b12 injections which have helped with some of the above but now feel like symptoms have returned as this was three months ago now.

I paid for a private thyroid test as GP seems reluctant to consider this, can anyone tell me if these results look off even though all are said to be in the 'normal'range?

I also have low blood pressure which the GP has commented on but isn't concerned as still above 90 (106).

Any help much appreciated as so tired of feeling unwell. TIA 😊

Your TSH level looks fine, well within normal range (the lower the better), not sure on other two sorry.

What were your iron and B12 results? Did they check your ferritin?

Have you also had vitamin D, and folate checked?

Some of your symptoms are indicative of low B12 - this could be form pernicious anaemia which means that you won't be able to absorb B12 from your diet or from supplements. Giving you a short course of B12 and then stopping would mean your B12 would just fall again and your symptoms would return. Why were you only given a course of 5?

If your iron is low, it can take months or years to build up through supplementation, three months wouldn't usually cut it (particularly ferritin - it can be really stubborn!).

Your thyroid results look OK tbh, but I would do two things - go onto the Thyroid UK forum on Health Unlocked and post both your thyroid results and your vitamin test results there. You'll get great advice about both.

I would also do the same on the Pernicious Anaemia Society forum also on Health Unlocked, and take a look at the Pernicious Anaemia Society website which has loads of great information about PA and testing, treatment etc.

I believe if you are not being adequately treated by a GP for PA then I believe PAS will advocate for you if you are a paid member - have a look on their website to see if that's still the case.

Good luck.

Have a look at secondary hypothyroidism.
