Vitiligo in child spreading rapidly
LizWatson1986 · 15/03/2023 14:51
Hello,
I am just wondering if anyone on here suffers from vitiligo and what their experiences were with regards to how rapidly it spread and stopped
My son appears to have it under his armpits and on his stomach and at the top of his thigh which have all appeared very quickly (within a few weeks) which is worrying me as it's spreading rapidly.
Any insights would be helpful
Many thanks in advance ❤️

My dh has it on his body. To be honest he is so pale I couldn't really tell until he pointed it out but he had it from a young age and it spread slightly. He has never had it on his face at all. A close friend also has it but hers is so extensive on her face that I also can't see it as it literally covers it all. It means she has to be very careful in the sun though.

I am quite sure it is vitiligo. My brother has it and it also started in his armpits. I have a doctor's appointment next Tuesday to confirm. The patches are smooth, not flaky and gradually losing pigment.

I only ask because I have ptiryasis versicolor which started off in my armpits, back and upper thigh on one side. I thought I had vitiligo (I'm black and it's very obvious) but turns out I don't.

i have it - around my midriff, hands and a little on my scalp.
developed later in life - I was fine until 40’s - i suspect possibly triggered by stress.
i stopped it its tracks and it’s been reversing slowly by having a meat based diet. Nothing processed. No wheat, no grains, minimal carbs. mainly red or white meat, berries, sweet corn, tomatoes. I found that buying most of my meat at Costco, and stock up on the few fresh things thru the week, I have virtually no food waste, energy levels are more constant throughout the day and night and I dont get sugar highs or lows. My guilty pleasure is coffee.
Look up Michaela Peterson, who had crazy auto immune conditions, including 2 hip replacements by the time she was 20 odd for her experiences.

That looks very fungal to me.
