Radio iodene treatment for graves

I was just wondering how many of you had radio iodene treatment and how you felt afterward long term, have you got a quality of life? I have read to many story's where people feel like rubbish for the rest of their life please give me some reassurance

DM had this years ago, it sent her underactive so she's on thyroxine for life. She's fine, just has a yearly blood test to check her levels in case the thyroxine needs adjusting.

Are there any other options available to you op? I think the iodine treatment is the most effective though. I remember we weren't allowed to go near Mum for a few days as we were told she was radioactive 😂

I don't blame you for not wanting an op tbh.

In your shoes I'd go for the iodine treatment. Can you discuss any concerns further with your GP or consultant?
