High white blood count and high liver levels

On top of several auto immune problems and a large amount of prescribed medication, my latest blood test shows high levels of serim (spelling might be off, she said it was serim liver levels) and high white blood cells.

Now it is not urgent, as although the doctor wanted to speak to me, the appointment is not for two weeks.

I am wondering if this is related to the pain I have had for two weeks now in the top right under my breast. The doctor wondered if my liver was inflamed, hence the blood test.

They want to talk to me about my medication, which is panicking me. The newest ones are the steroids and immune supression drugs which are preventing my neurological condition from getting worse.

Can my GP reduce medication given to me by my consultant?

I don't drink at all, so this isn't related to alcohol abuse. A question asked several times by the doctor, before the blood test.

I really couldn't bare to have any further medical issues. Could this self right itself?

Is it possible for your gp to discuss with your consultant any results and they collaborate on treatment plan?

I know my rheumatologist discusses all medication with my hepatologist before prescribing anything and that I have blood work analyzed every 3 months to make sure that the meds for RA aren't further negatively impacting my liver (which is already scarred).

My internist isn't even involved in the RA or liver treatment. She just monitors my thyroid (hypo) and general health.

However, they can all see results of all scans, blood work, and each other's treatment notes. And they email or pick up the phone to consult with each other when needed.

At the end of the day, I'll make ultimate decisions if there are unresolvable conflicts amongst the specialists. For me, at this point, it's liver health first and everything else follows.

And I meant to add, our bodies can be amazing and yes, in some circumstances, the liver is able to heal itself.

I have cirrhosis. I don't drink or smoke and try to eat cleanly (and frankly I probably drop the ball on clean eating more often than not). I exercise when possible (i.e., walk the dog). My liver is chugging along at 10-15% of its capacity (estimated by one specialist). But the thing is - it's not getting worse. I do what I can to reduce inflammation and fatty liver through lifestyle (food, exercise, environment) and not contribute to further scarring.

I had high liver serum levels and it turned out it was an effect of undiagnosed hypothyroidism which wasn’t diagnosed until 2 months later after numerous tests and scans to establish what the cause was. Once I was on medication for my thyroid my liver serum went back to normal.

I already have treated hypothyroidism.

Yes, I would hope the GP will talk to the consultant.

I struggle to exercise as I am in a wheelchair beyond a few steps in the house with crutches.

I don't drink, smoke or take drugs.

I am very very fat, put on loads as well last year panicking about my health.

Now I mainly eat cous cous now. I am never hungry, as I can't feel my stomach (neuro problem) so unless I really want to eat it I struggle to make myself eat. Food texture is a big issue for me. But I am trying.

I'll have to wait and see.

Doctor said although my numbers are high, they are not that high. So nothing further to do. Good to know there is nothing to worry about Smile
