Autoimmune disease
Crohns, spots, and masks.

So i'm on azathioprine for the crohns, which may or may not be important.
For the last three or four weeks i've had a horrible spot outbreak on my chin. Anywhere between six and ten spots at a time. The problem i have is they just won't go away no matter what i do.
I moisturise day and night, i've bought new spot creams with salicylic acid in, i've had the charcoal face masks and nothing seems to be helping.
Its probably not helping that i'm wearing a face mask for 8 hours everyday at work but its really starting to get me down.
Anyone out there who's had this and can suggest anything?

Can't help directly, but wanted to say that I've been on azathioprine for years and not had this issue, and no-one else I know on it has mentioned it either. So possibly rule that one out. :)

Not on the Crohn's but maybe try changing your mask every hour or however often you can, and put some laundry bleach in when you wash them so you are really clearing out the bacteria. I'd be tempted to wipe over your chin with something antibacterial when you change your mask too, but that may be OTT. Just try and keep them really clean, as best you can in a mask. Think of changing your mask like washing your hands - you need to do it regularly or the bacteria just build up.

Good to know its not a side effect of the azathioprine, thank you.
I change masks every hour at work and they are single use ones we're given so its not that.
Thank you both for your replies though, much appreciated.

I have Crohn’s. Skin was always terrible when I had infection somewhere in the bowel and cleared up after antibiotics.

I was on aza and had terrible skin for 6 years. Disease was controlled and I had no actual.crohns symptoms.
Skin was always inflamed and sore. Nothing helped except staying out the sun when it was out. This was a couple.of years ago so pre masks.
