Thyroid, low blood sugar, what the hell is it?!

I have several auto immune conditions... Addison's, coeliac, pernicious anaemia. I generally have a continuous feeling of being a little unwell anyway but the last few weeks, maybe up to a month its become progressively worse to the point of I'm struggling to function

Extreme dizziness, not all the time though but quite frequent, maybe 1 or 2 times an hour
Extreme fatigue but also insomnia
Nausea
Tingling hands
Confusion

Research has come up with a few possibilities, all of which are heightened by previous auto immune conditions, most common seem to be either low blood sugar or thyroid issues.

Anyone else had any similar symptoms could maybe give me a quick run down of what it was?

I can't get into my gp at all atm with the current situation obviously so when I dk eventually manage to get an appt I want to be certain I'm going for the right reasons and not just wasting an appt time if its something silly

Your symptoms match up with covid. Specifically the fatigue, tingling hands, nausea, confusion. You should book a test (though if it's been weeks maybe the test won't work), and ask the doctor for a phone appointment for advice.

I don't know anything about pernicious anaemia, but would also suggest asking for a general blood test to look at iron, iodine, sodium levels etc. Otherwise it could be your blood pressure. Depending on finances, can you buy a blood pressure monitor? Rest for 5 min, then take two readings one minute apart, write down the figures morning and evening, give them to a doctor.

I hope you get some help and feel better soon.

Struggling to function isn't "something silly". Please ring the doctor and get some blood tests done.

Are you having b12 injections frequently enough?

Could be thyroid as you say. Could be lots of other things.

But you need to get it checked out.

If the blood tests don't show anything push for further tests or a referral. Tingling hands definitely needs further investigation .

I am going to hazard an educated guess that you could be very Vit B12 deficient. It would account for dizziness, numbness/tingling in extremities, mental fogginess, etc.

You may also have a thyroid condition (autoimmune diseases love to hang out together). Ideally get a blood test, but once you have a thyroid blood test, don't take your doctor's word for it that you are 'fine', but go somewhere like Health Unlocked with your actual lab results. Ditto for B12.
